Things TO KNOW - BEACHES flag football league
Flag football is an introductory developmental sport, designed to teach young student-athletes the fundamentals of football, as well as sportsmanship and team dynamics. For many, this program marks their first exposure to football, offering a progressive learning experience structured to progressively build upon foundational skills over a 6-week period.

- U6 (2020 DOB) 9:30 - 10:30
- At this age group, student-athletes will spend most of their morning focusing on skills and drills such as passing/catching, taking handoffs, running with the football, agility/footwork, pulling flags, and defensive containment. They will gradually build to playing a full game as the season progresses.
- U7/U8 (2018/2019 DOB) 9:30 - 11:00
- At this age group, student-athletes will spend time (30 minutes) focusing on skills and drills, alignment, and play-calling concepts. This is followed by 55 minutes of game time versus other teams.
- U9/U10 (2016/2017 DOB). 10:45 - 12:15
- At this age group, student-athletes will spend time (30 minutes) focusing on skills and drills, alignment, and play-calling concepts. This is followed by 55 minutes of game time versus other teams.
- U11/12 (2014/2015 DOB). 12:00 - 1:30
- At this age group, student-athletes will spend time (30 minutes) focusing on skills and drills, alignment, and play-calling concepts. This is followed by 55 minutes of game time versus other teams.
LEAGUE DETAILS
- All games from September 13th to October 4th will be played at Jim McPherson Park (1255 Victoria Park Ave., Toronto, ON M1L 1Z2). There are no games on October 11th in observance of Canadian Thanksgiving. Our last two weeks, including playoffs, will be held at Birchmount Stadium. (85 Birchmount Rd.)
- All U6 and U7/8 games are played on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am; U9/10 games will be played at 11:15 am; U11/12 games will be played at 12:30. Teams will have 30 minutes prior to the game to conduct a practice. Additional practices may be held throughout the week at the discretion of the coach.
- Each team will be given the following pieces of equipment for the season: 2 youth footballs, flags, and coaching whiteboard. All equipment must be returned at the commencement of the season.
- The season is a 6 week regular season beginning on September 13th. Playoffs will be held on October 25th.
